All students must take Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies at each grade level and have a 70 yearly average to progress to the next grade. Failing Language Arts, Mathematics, or Science and Social Studies will be cause for grade level retention. Additionally, each student is required to fulfill 3 semesters of P. E. at the Middle School level.

Courses with High School CreditThe following courses will give high school credit towards graduation requirements and are offered to 7th and 8th grade students:
Note: Algebra I requires a 75 average in order to progress Geometry. Both IPC and Algebra I require passing the second semester to receive credit for the course, regardless of the yearly average.
Credit By ExamSpanish Credit by Exam is offered at Landrum and other sites in the District. A passing score on the exam grants 1 year of high school credit towards graduation. The exam is offered for 3 levels of Spanish; however, each level must be passed before proceeding to the next.
