Construction

Due to the construction and the added job duties, the library is still getting ready for the school year. Please be patient as we try to get everything in order. I will let you know when the library is ready to go. Thank you for your assistance and understanding.

Library Information

 

 Library General Information: 

 
The library is open daily. The library is CLOSED daily between lunches from 11:45-12:25.
 
Students may check-out books, play games, read magazines, conduct research, or study during library time.
 
Students may use the computers to conduct research during school hours with a written note from their teacher.
 
Students may come to the library:
  • Before or after school
  • With a pass from their teacher
  • With their class
  • During lunch (with a lunch pass)
 

Lunch:

 

Only students who have obtained a library pass may enter the library during lunch. See Mr. Arnic to receive your lunch pass.

 

Due to destruction and inappropriate use, computers are off limits during lunch unless accompanied by a staff member. 

  

Check-Out Policy:

 Books are due two weeks after check out and may be renewed once. A student may check out up to five items at a time.

 

The library does not impose fines, however students with overdue items may not check out additional items until all overdue items are clear.

 

Scheduling a Class:

 To schedule a time to visit the library, check the library calendar (below) to find an open date. The library can accommodate up to two classes at a time in the library.

 

Once you have found a date, please e-mail Ms. Stockel to be added to the calendar.

 Welcome!  My name is Ms. Stockel (pronounced: Stock- Ell) and I am the librarian at Landrum Middle School.  I am so excited to be here at Landrum. 

 

I have a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Education from The University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Library Information Science degree from The University of North Texas. This is my 8th year in education and my 5th year as a librarian.  Prior to becoming a librarian, I was a middle school science teacher/department chair and language arts teacher. 

 

I love assisting teachers and students to locate just the right materials.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me .  I am looking forward to assisting you in any manner.
