6th Grade Assistant Principal
Ms. Nancy Thomas
I’m very excited to start a new school year at Landrum as one of the Assistant Principals. I’m looking forward to helping all students get a great start in middle school as they begin the process of planning out their future.
Before becoming an administrator, I started my education at the University of Texas and the University of Houston where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Business Administration. I began my teaching career as a Pre-AP World History and World History teacher in 2004. I taught AP Government, Economics and U.S. History as well. I served as an Instructional Specialist in Social Studies and Interventionist for five years. In 2012 I earned my Master’s degree in Educational Administration and Leadership and I am so excited to be part of the team here at Landrum Middle School.
I look forward to a new and exciting year!
7th Grade Assistant Principal
Mrs. Stacy Sanchez
After finishing my undergraduate degree at Youngstown State University in Ohio, I moved to Houston, Texas to start my career as an elementary school teacher. I spent several years teaching elementary school and then had the opportunity to teach middle school in Spring Branch ISD. While teaching middle school, I pursued my passion and that was to become an administrator and began my Master’s Degree in Education Administration & Supervision at the University of Houston. While I was working on my master’s degree, I started a leadership role as a School Improvement Specialist for Language Arts and Social Studies at Northbrook High School where I supported teachers and students. A few years later, I moved into the role as an assistant principal at Northbrook High School where I remained for 7 years.
I am excited to be a Landrum Lion and the 6th grade assistant principal!
8th Grade Assistant Principal
Mr. Samuel Karns
I am super excited to be returning to the Landrum family and as one of the Assistant Principals. I graduated in 2007 with my Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Texas at San Antonio, and started my career off as a Health Fitness Specialist’s at Westwood Elementary in Spring Branch ISD. During this time I earned my Master’s in Educational Leadership through Texas A&M University in 2013. From here I transitioned into leadership as the Assistant Director for Student Wellness in Spring Branch ISD where I oversaw the health and wellness of every child and staff member in our district. My passion is focusing on the Whole Child and building relationships that organically create collaboration within all areas of education by utilizing the Whole School Whole Community Whole Child framework through ASCD. I strongly believe that we must tap into the social and emotional learning of Every Child by strengthening school connectedness which is one of the multiple measures our district uses to support the students that walk through our doors every day. I look forward to serving as a Landrum Lion Inspiring Others to Never Settle.
